Digital wellbeing has become increasingly important for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), especially due to changes brought by COVID-19. The shift to remote work and higher use of digital tools has highlighted the need for effective management of these technologies.
For SMEs, it's crucial to use digital tools in ways that promote employee health and productivity, avoiding issues like burnout and imbalanced work-life. The pandemic underscored the need for digital wellbeing strategies to help employees manage their digital workload healthily, essential for both their health and the business’s productivity in a dynamic digital world.
However, SMEs are behind larger firms in employee digital wellbeing policies – 82% of SME employers lack such policies or plans to introduce them. The DigiWorkWell project, funded by Erasmus+, aims to address digital wellbeing challenges in the workplace, especially for SMEs. Initiated due to COVID-19, the project addresses the new flexible work models and the associated physical and mental health challenges.
